Let us start somewhat at the beginning of how our journey came about. The picture used here shows a path, which was taken in Pike Lake State Park in Hartford, Wisconsin.
Back in mid to late September 2014, one of my husband's friends made a Facebook post stating that their motor home needed to find a new home. My husband (Richard) replied to that post asking ''How much?" We got a reply back informing us of all the things that were wrong with the class C. The furnace had been taken out, along with the water heater, roof leaks...but it's got new tires, new tranny, new electric awning, a/c works..... So Richard asked again, How much? His friend replied "Are you gonna use it?" And Richard said "Of course! You know me, I camp a lot". Friend said "I'll give it to you the same way I got it.....come and get it"
WOW! We were making plans to head to Wisconsin!
Mid October we made the trip and picked up the '91 Fleetwood Jamboree Searcher and brought it back to southern Illinois.
Of course we DID camp in it while in Wisconsin..even if it was in a friends driveway a couple of nights HA Thank goodness for good friends hey?
And now as we wait for better weather to come we sit and dream and make plans for all the things we NEED to do to the motor home along with the things we would LIKE to do to it.
NEEDS:
New roof (exterior and interior damage there),we know there is some interior wall damage too we will have to contend with and replace, window seals replaced, furnace (as we like to camp in colder weather as well) water heater (tankless I hope!) Rebuild the upper bunk area- but for this we plan to put in a bar/entertainment area.
Cosmetically we plan to rip out the old carpeting and replace that with ....? something other than carpet lol. Paint interior, replace window treatments and dinette bench coverings, replace the mini blinds
All the cosmetic stuff will come in time, but it's fun to plan and dream of how we eventually want this motor home to be by the time we're done with it.
THAT is how this journey begins.....our path, to many adventures in the Bouncy House.
